Joshua, as always great content. Running the traditional application process isn't all its cracked up to be from either side (applicant or employer) and more often than not results are mediocre. How would you encourage employers to approach this differently from their side?

Even with parents looming about, they still did it. And they have learned skills that will put them in the top quartile of any job they go for after graduation. Parents' involvement is a very good thing. But the student didn't have to listen or follow their advice either. So from my perspective, I'd like to give them as much credit as possible. After all, it's the results of their diligence that made the good impression. The family mechanics are none of my business.

Not to take away any credit from the students! On the other hand, they're also more entrenched in juggling school work, applications and as you've said, interviews -- possibly giving them more confidence to be candid and having better organization skills in general.

Do you think maybe the high schoolers were more prepared because they had parents involved? "Make sure you take directions! You better research the company first!" I know my parents were unrelenting when it came to checking over college applications, etc.

Lisa, Hang in there. Just keep trying new things, and measuring their results. There is a perfect combination.
