When my infographic was published on Mashable last week, it went completely viral. It had over 7,000 shares and over 100 comments.
Among the comments was a clever job seeker who turned his resume into a nice looking infographic. He wasn’t a designer, and although the concept was really great, it didn’t do him any service.
But still. What a killer idea. To represent your career in an easy to read, visually interesting way.
And by total coincidence, that’s exactly what Brazen Careerist just announced in their most recent newsletter, a new app called, “The Infographic Resume“.
Basically, you access your LinkedIn profile and it will generate a graphic summarizing what it finds.
Then you can export it into a .pdf and use it instead of a resume.
In their own words:
The idea behind the app is to give you 1) a way to easily visualize your personal profile information; 2) a unique and creative way to show an employer who you are and what you bring to the table so you can stand out from the crowd; and 3) career feedback and advice that highlights your strengths and areas you can improve.
Whether you actually use it in your job search or not, I don’t know. But it’s cool enough to check out and see if it could work for you.
Check out this cool new app here: The Infographic Resume

My team at Come Recommended have really embraced this trend. This is such a great idea for an eye-catching and interesting resume. I'm curious to see if this is just a fad, or if infographic resumes are here to stay.

LikeThanks Josh. When I saw some of the visual resumes on MAshable earlier this week I was wondering how I'd go about doing that. Gonna dig through your archives over the next few days and order a copy of your book. Congrats on your success. Just read about you on Pamela Slim's Blog

Thanks Srinivas, it's cool stuff. And thanks for ordering the book. Let me know what you think. Your review on Amazon will be hugely appreciated as well.

LikeThere is a site that I found as well that makes your LinkedIn Resume into an infographic. I just started with it the other day and need to add some more info, but it already looks pretty good. http://vizualize.me/c_pritchard

LikeThe only problem with it is that you need to somehow get an invite code. Any ideas on how to use this service with becoming their spam agent?
