Video Resume Ideas

Hey Gang,

I just want to say that I love my Mac. I used it to put together a pretty slick video résumé yesterday in just a few hours. I often talk about standing out from the crowd, and I believe video is the way to do that. That being said, I am a total Rookie video maker. This was my first-ever produced video; I know it probably falls short of your standards, but hey, at least I gave it a shot. Right! and that’s what I’d like you to do.

In fact, I will be having a contest. So stay tuned!

Come on. Let me know what you think!

i like the overall presentation and ideas joshua. i have never made a video cv or resume or what have you myself so it was very impressive.

what i liked:
the music
the girl's laugh
the titles
the samples of your work (eg you instructing a large audience and the online blog)
the changes in scenery
camera angles
the visuals (the flashing lights, the dates)
the quote from shelley
your list of clients

What I wasn't as crazy about:
the audio wasn't the best when you were speaking - hard to hear what you were saying
6 people signed up for a 2 hour workshop - is that a big number for a workshop?
when you say interviews with power users - what is a power user? (I'm a bit dense - I need it spoon fed)
no stats to verify how many companies/individuals you have "helped" in some manner
precisely how is it that you can "help me" as u said in the end (remember - I'm dense)

now all I need is a videographer, a computer genius, and a couple of sets, and I can produce something impressive like you (I wish)

Thanks for the review. What do you think of my new video. It's on my Speaking page.

Josh:

for a first shot you would have fooled me.

We should probably connect up tomorrow regarding my videoing Wednesday.
