This interview aired on 9/15/2011 on ABC’s NOW network with Tory Johnson. I took the red-eye to New York on Tuesday the 12th, spent the morning wondering around the city. Had a great lunch with Adam over at InnovateCV, then popped into the ABC studies for my 5 minute interview! Crazy schedule. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Joshua, I'm not able to watch the ABC video. The message on the video screen reads: "Sorry - the creator of this video has not given you permission to embed it on this domain." Is this a problem on my end?

Your taking the view point of the hiring manager is crucial. The amount of information is staggering. Lining up the profiles with the resume and being present in social media conversation seems easy. Glad to see you moving these important tools into the hands of the job seeker. Keep up the great work!

TaichiCharlie Thanks for the feedback. I really feel that there is value in my value proposition and that if more people will discover this blog and the book, the more I can help them. Thanks for your continued support!

Fantastic interview, Josh.

Your points on Twitter etiquette are essential. I often wonder why societal "norms" re: decently interacting with one another often doesn't make the jump to the social scene. All the more so is it bizarre when we see the forceful behaviour in the JOB SEARCH social scene from job hunter to employer/recruiter.

Any ideas why appropriate relationship building is often a forgotten concept in the social world, that we (correctly) need constant reminding?

Adam_InnovateCV I think it's b/c the context is so dramatically different. Remember, humans have spend the last 10,000+ years figuring out how to get along, face-to-face. Now, it seems we're starting from scratch. But those social media users who employ the same courtesy online as they do in person will certainly do much better!. The context may have changed, but we're still human.
