I asked intRvue founder and CEO Frank Rolles to demo his online resume building tool for me. This is amazing stuff.
The premise behind intRvue is that a resume is flat and doesn’t tell your story well. But a multi-media website can tell a great story. The problem is most people don’t have the time or resources to develop their own websites.
His product allows you to have fully interactive content, customized and managed from an easy to use dashboard. So far, I haven’t seen anything this robust on the market.
Check out this quick, 5 minute, video, and see if this is a product you might want to use for your own job search.
Very interesting, it’s like linkedin on steroids. Personally, as a job seeker and one who helps others in their job seeking needs, it’s really a great way to showcase your abilities. Would love to see some feedback from hiring managers specifically (as I can see recruiters would really like this), as to how much time you would actually have to click around if you received this as a resume for a posted position. Would this approach stand out when you had say 300 qualified applicants for one job? Would you take the time to click all the things you could click to get an idea about this person? Or will you still rely on your keyword software to sort out the people you want to look at, and then give the very brief glance your time allows you to decide who to interview? If this will give me an edge and you, the hiring manager has the time to utilize what this type of approach could do, will it help me? Just curious.

Thanks for your comment. Here are some things to consider. The process to determine who gets to be interviewed has a screening phase then a deeper look phase. The 20 seconds per resume statistic is for the screening phase. If a person makes the short list, recruiters and hiring managers go searching for more information online. So, in short the answer is yes they will look at your website.
Keep in mind that approximately 85% of all jobs are filled through proactive networking (someone knows someone) rather than making it through the applicant tracking automated screening and then making it to the short stack; so, it is better to get your information to the hiring manager through your network. And, yes they will look at it because it is coming from someone in their network and because they are curious.
Another key point is that there are no ads or links to other people on your website so this tends to hold attention on your content. People who have developed their websites (in a day or two) and then proactively networked, have had great feedback and results – getting interviews specifically as a result of the their website. We believe intRvue will give you and edge if you make the short stack and even more of an edge when you proactively network to share your achievements.
